ABOUT

LADEN

Meet the CEO & Co-Founder

Rob Tatum

I started Laden because my partner is a film photographer who wanted to sell her prints but didn’t know where to begin. As someone with a background in logistics, I saw an opportunity to combine my experience with her passion for photography and create something that could help photographers like her.

I believe film photography is a deeply nostalgic and intentional art form. In a world where technology continues to evolve rapidly and photography has become increasingly digital, shooting on film encourages artists to slow down, be thoughtful, and truly commit to capturing the perfect shot.

Laden was created to help photographers share that work with the world. Our goal is to make it easier for artists to sell their photography while ensuring their work is reproduced and presented with the quality and care it deserves.

Definition: /ˈleɪdn̩/ adjective. [more laden; most laden] : loaded heavily with something. In a positive context signifies being abundantly filled, blessed, or enriched

What is Laden Film Collective?

Just as you load film, and create images loaded of emotion, soul, and creativity!

In a world fueled by technology, we aim to reintroduce warmth, intention, and feeling back into modern space by rewinding to one of the oldest forms of photography.

Giving artists the platform to share their art with the world with trusted suppliers and diligent care from the Laden team.

‍Maxine Parkin ( Max Tay Photo)

I’ve wanted to sell my film prints for years. I’ve had clients asking me for them, but I was always intimidated by where to even start. Trusting my art to be replicated in print form is a lot of pressure. I wouldn’t want it to be misrepresented, because when you’ve put so much intention into creating something, even the colors being off by just a smidge can completely change the image. It would no longer feel like the art I had made.

Rob researched and vetted different local suppliers, ordering test prints and going several times in person to meet with them. Going through that process made me confident that my art could be reflected into the world in the way I had envisioned it. Now, we want to bring more artists into this process who have had that same hesitation around creating prints of their work. Our goal is to make it seamless, so artists can feel confident sharing their gifts in a tangible way.

Throughout my travels, I’ve always brought my film camera with me, capturing photographs across the United States, Italy, France, and beyond. For years, these images have lived in my archives, and now they’re ready to make their way into your home, office, or business.
